I have several D&B 18v tools & have had excellent service. Only problem is the NiCad 18v batteries are expensive & don’t last very long. I picked up a B&D string trimmer that has a 20V LI battery & I was hoping it would interchange but not. Does anyone make an adaptor to use the 20V B&D LI battery on my 18V tools?
Unfortunately no, such an adaptor doesn’t exist.
Actually they do exist. Search on Amazon or Ebay for Black Decker Battery adapter. You’ll find a few offerings. A word of caution: Your older tool does not have the electronic protection circuitry to communicate with the LiOn batteries to tell them when to ‘shut down’. So if you run the batteries to Zero there is a chance you’ll irreversibly damage them.
