Now that wood heating season is here I have found another use for my new M18 cordless miter saw. Cutting firewood into kindling chunks. I can take the miter saw to the wood pile and turn a couple of pieces of firewood into bite sized chunks. Chunks that I can use for fire starting. Also at the beginning and end of the season one wants smaller pieces so when running the fire hot the room isn’t over heated. I prefer these chunks over using a splitting axe or splitting maul to split these logs into strips.
The miter saw is also safer than a cordless circular saw when cutting up scrap lumber for kindling.
