Rivet Nut Tool recommendation

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a rivet nut tool? I can see quite a few on Amazon, but no name brands that are my usual gotos.

Also, is an air one worth the extra cost? I finally brought a decent size compressor

Thanks

Ben

depends on what you’re doing with the rivnuts. If you are doing them daily - high quality comfortable tool, powered if possible.

Using larger sizes powered if you can.

Smaller and in tight places - manual might be best.

Rare occasional use putting in say less than 10 - cheapo deepo is sufficient.

I like the Girapow, and if you’re already on the Makita LXT line then IMO it’s a no brainer.

I picked up this kit at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P7M4BKF

I’ve only used it a handful of times, but it’s worked well.

Thanks! I looked at that kit I thought that might be worth buying!

Ive used a basic riv nut tool from menards, I believe is surebonder branded, for occasional use. It seemed to work well enough. For very frequent use id like something a bit more ergonomic and possibly powered.
Id suggest that the quality of riv nuts used is also a factor to consider. From what I remember there were a couple that had an issue and needed to be removed, drilling them out was a bit of a hassle.
