Tools Made in America

Woodsmith Magazine (Vol.38 / No. 226) just showed up in my mailbox today.
On page 14 the editors start a 4-page article entitled: “great tools still Made in America”.
They list the following:

  1. Forrest Saw Blades
  2. MicroJig GRR-Ripper
  3. Microplane Rasps
  4. Starrett Combination Square
  5. Preppin’ Weapon
  6. Wood Handscrews (Dubuque Clamp Works)
  7. Wood is Good Mallet
  8. Whiteside Router Bits
  9. Kreg Pocket Screw Jigs
  10. Diamond Plates (EZE-Lap and DMT brands)
  11. Wood Finishing Products (several brands)
  12. Fuller (W.L. Fuller) Tapered Drill Bits
  13. Weldon Countersinks
  14. Vix Bits
In a sidebar they also cite:
    • Incra Tools
    • Lie-Nielsen Toolworks
    • Woodpeckers
    • Woodhaven

I can’t find fault with any of their selections – although I like some of 3M’s sanding blocks better than the Preppin’ Weapon (Time Shaver Tools – Big Horn Tools – UPC 766565195000) that I bought ($21.95) about 3 years ago to try out.

Picked up some Craftsman screwdriver sets and speed square for $3 ea, all were stamped made in the USA. Pleasant surprise.

Snappy tool accessories are mostly made in USA, great quality, I wish they would have made TCT plug cutters with E6.3 1/4" hex shank.
